JOB DESCRIPTION:

POSITION:FOOD SERVICE SERVER/COOK’S HELPER

RESPONSIBLE
TO: FOOD SERVICE DIRECTOR

JOB GOAL: To prepare and serve food in an acceptable manner and to complete needed paper work as required for the LH Food Service Program

QUALIFICATIONS:
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• One to two years related experience
• Required to lift, carry, push and pull various supplies and/or equipment up to a maximum of 50 pounds
• Willing to help instill in students the belief in and practice of ethical principles and democratic values
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent and/or Board Of Education may find appropriate

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Assist with ordering necessary food and/or supplies required for the planned menu and/or the activities.

2. Assist with preparing food according to tested recipes and/or directions, ensuring proper cooking times and temperatures are followed.

3. Set up the serving line, as necessary, to prepare for serving the menu for the day and continually keeping the serving line full.

4. Serve correct portions, according to the meal production sheet, to all customers in an atmosphere of efficiency, cleanliness and friendliness.

5. Maintain the highest standards of safety and cleanliness in the kitchen, serving area and with food service equipment.

6. After lunch is completed, clean the food service area and the kitchen area and do any preparation work necessary for the next day.

7. Assist with completing the monthly inventory report, under the guidance of the Food Service Director, making sure new products are added as received and stock is rotated as necessary.

8. Assist with clean up after meal service, including items such as, wiping off work surfaces, washing dishes, to including pots and pans.

9. Perform any other duties as assigned by the Food Service Director as pertains to job goals.

Service Supervisor in accordance with the provisions of the Board’s
